Faroe Islands Hiking Photography Adventure
May 25-29, 2023
It’ll be a trip!
You are invited to join me in the Faroe Islands in May! I’ve been planning this trip for awhile now, using unsplash, Instagram, and AllTrails. I love hiking and photography, and am learning to fly my drone Mavic Mini 3.
I am not a guide or local expert. I’ve never been there before. This trip will hit a few key spots I’ve identified as super photogenic, but let’s be honest, the entire island chain is photogenic. We’ll be going on hikes to lookouts, both with and without camera gear. Sometimes it’s nice to just go for a nice trail run.
Faroe Islands May 25-29 | Direct flights to and from Edinburgh on these days only. You are welcome to come early and stay late, but you’re on your own for booking that. I’m happy to discuss options with you!
Photography 101, 505 and everything in between
Beginner or advanced, it doesn’t matter. You probably know what you’re doing already. Me too, sometimes. I’ve wanted to visit this region for a long time so, the time is now. I may not be back a second time. If you want to come adventure with me and see where we end up, now’s your chance.
Topics include
– Long exposures
– Filters
– Timing shots
– Foreground elements and composition
– Drone flying
– What gear should I bring?
Example spots we’ll stop at
Some of these are hiking spots but most are photography spots. I’ve spent a bunch of time researching on Unsplash and Google image search to pick some spots along a route that will result in some of the shots you see on this page. This list isn’t exhaustive, and the exact itinerary will depend on weather and timing.
– Slættaratindur
– Gjógv
– Bøsdalafossur waterfall
– Hiking at Villingardalsfjall – Enniberg
But dont’ worry about any of that, just sit back, clean your lenses and enjoy the scenery until we stop.
